1) I'm not sure that a relevant proportion of popular classes could name five Kardashians, and therefore if this comment is relevant; and

2) there may be peer-pressure involved for those who can, and a sociologist would rather study this process than consider the Kardashian audience as isolated individuals. In this perspective, we should consider whether this peer-pressure happens from one's social network or from strangers on the Internet (Facebook groups, Twitter mutuals, etc.)
