For real though, the extent to which programmers have been turned into license lawyers is just plain sad.
Licenses are corporate bullshit. Reject licensing, do cool shit. Be gay, do crime.
Wow, Ubiquiti got owned HARD. Hackers got full RW access to their Amazon buckets and pretty much exfiltrated everything including all passwords/credentials used to authenticate to and manage networks that use their cloud based admin. Rather than immediate revoke all credentials, Ubiquiti made users change credentials on next login, which means if you don't often log in to make changes, then someone may have been creeping around your network for months.

Mass resignations from #FSF. One can only begin to ponder what the board was thinking when bringing back RMS.
https://www.theregister.com/2021/03/30/fsf_mass_resignation/
I'm not even sure what the FSF is supposed to do anyway, it's sfconservancy that does all the actual meaningful work wrt free software advocacy afaik
things sfconservancy does:
- legal support against GPL violations
- organizational support for FOSS projects
- financial support for FOSS projects
- outreach project to give marginalized people internships working on a FOSS project
things the FSF does, as far as I can tell:
- organize a conference
- other publicity stuff?
- keep RMS employed because nobody else will
The Tor Project is joining calls for Richard M. Stallman to be removed from board, staff, volunteer, and other leadership positions in the FOSS community, including the Free Software Foundation and the GNU Project. Sign the open letter: https://rms-open-letter.github.io/

RMS, FSF, stuff you can do
In case you wanted a list of companies to stop doing business with, here's the list of FSF sponsors.
Note that Bad Packets has already bailed, though the FSF web site isn't updated.
Sunday, I was happy to give a talk at the FSF #LibrePlanet, wearing the Tshirt I designed for them (photo). But later that day, Richard Stallman announced his return to the FSF's Board of Directors. In this situation, I'll no longer invest my energy for them... 😿
